Eight indoor courts. Open play, leagues, lessons, and a whole lot more. Detroit Pickleball Club is coming to Rivertown, bringing a new place to play just a short trip from Hamtramck.
Opening December 2026
Looking for pickleball near Hamtramck? We've got good news.
If you live in Hamtramck and love pickleball, or you've been looking for a place to try it, a new option is coming to the neighborhood.
Detroit Pickleball Club is opening at 3201 Franklin Street in Detroit's Rivertown neighborhood. And for Hamtramck residents, it will be the closest dedicated pickleball club when it opens.
That's especially exciting if you've been driving out to the suburbs to find indoor courts, or waiting for warmer weather to play outside. Soon, you'll have a club built specifically for pickleball much closer to home.
Whether you're looking for a regular after-work game, a weekend activity with friends, or a way to meet new people, we're building a place for all of it.
A lot more than a few pickleball courts.
We're creating a dedicated indoor pickleball club where you can play regularly, improve your game, and find your people. Here's what's coming.
Eight indoor courts
Eight dedicated pickleball courts, designed for the sport rather than squeezed into another athletic space.
Games without the group chat
Daily open play will make it easier to find games, meet other players, and show up without organizing a group of four.
Play all year
Climate-controlled indoor courts mean Michigan winters, rainy afternoons, and summer heat don't get to decide when you play.
Leagues & tournaments
Join a league, test your skills in tournaments, or find a new level of competition as you improve.
Lessons & clinics
Never held a paddle? Already working on your third-shot drop? Instruction and clinics will help players at different skill levels.
Stay a little longer
A pro shop, locker rooms, and social spaces make it a place to hang out, not just somewhere to book a court.
Never played pickleball before? Even better.
One of the best things about pickleball is how easy it is to get started. You don't need years of experience, expensive equipment, or a background in tennis to have a good time.
The basic rules are simple enough to pick up quickly, and you can start enjoying games long before you've mastered every shot.
At Detroit Pickleball Club, we're planning beginner-friendly open play, lessons, and clinics to help new players feel comfortable on the court. You can learn the basics, meet other beginners, and start building your game.
And if you're coming from Hamtramck on your own? No problem. Open play is designed to help players find games without needing to bring a partner.
A new destination on Detroit's riverfront.
Detroit Pickleball Club is part of a roughly $6 million transformation of a former industrial building in Detroit's Rivertown neighborhood.
We're turning the space into a new destination for pickleball, recreation, and community. And the courts are only part of the story.
The club will occupy approximately 24,000 square feet of the building. The remaining space will become The Foundry, a community destination planned for local businesses, food and drink concepts, wellness providers, and gathering spaces.
The idea is simple: Come for pickleball, but have plenty of reasons to stick around.
For Hamtramck residents, it's another reason to spend time in Detroit's growing Rivertown neighborhood, whether you're coming for a match or meeting friends afterward.
